NesscoInvsat Telecommunications has announced the award of a £200,000 contract from Norwegian company Teleconsult A/S for the provision of C and Ku Band VSAT systems, as well as a satellite TV and entertainment distribution network for Petrojarl's latest FPSO project.  The vessel, which is currently being converted in Poland, will be operational in the Siri field offshore Brazil for Petrobras.

The VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) satellite equipment will allow both Petrojarl and Petrobras to extend their corporate voice and data networks to the vessel.

The equiment, sourced from a variety of manufacturers to meet the client's exact requirements, will be integrated and tested at NesscoInvsat's workshops in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, before being shipped to Gdansk for installation and commissioning.

Once on station in the Campos Basin located off the southeastern coast of Brazil, NesscoInvsat Telecommunications will also provide a broadband satellite service linking the vessel to Petrojarl's Norwegian headquarters.

"This is one of many collaborative projects we are working on with our partner, Teleconsult", said Sam Murray, Business Development Manager for NesscoInvsat.  "Petrojarl are a new client, and we look forward to developing this relationship in the future."
